Enjoy investigating interesting medical cases?
We’re looking for an experienced veterinarian with well-developed skills in ultrasound or internal medicine to join Bundoora Veterinary Clinic & Hospital.
This role is suited to someone who is already confident in these areas and enjoys working through complex diagnoses, managing medical cases and continuing to develop their expertise alongside experienced colleagues.
About Us
Our hospital is part of the independently owned Bundoora Veterinary Group (BVG), which provides veterinary services across three clinics, including our 24/7 Bundoora hospital and Northern Suburbs Animal Emergency Centre.
Our General Practice and Emergency clinicians work closely together, supported by experienced veterinary and nursing teams and a Canine Medical Specialist. Our regular caseload includes trauma, foreign bodies, pericardial effusion, toxicities including snake envenomation, oncology and referral cases.
Facilities include extensive in-house laboratory services, ultrasound, endoscopy and comprehensive surgical and hospital facilities.
About the Role
You will use your existing ultrasound or internal medicine skills to investigate and manage an interesting and varied small animal caseload, with opportunities to collaborate with our GP and emergency clinicians and further develop your clinical expertise.
Permanent full-time or part-time arrangements are available, with a minimum of two shifts per week. Average shift hours are 8 am to 6 pm.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, negotiable based on experience and skills
- Five weeks’ annual leave
- Annual conference/CPD leave
- Mentoring and support from experienced veterinarians
- Support from a Canine Medical Specialist
- A supportive, collaborative environment within an independently owned veterinary group
About You
You will have established practical skills in ultrasound or internal medicine and be confident working independently within your area of expertise. You will enjoy investigating medical cases, work collaboratively with veterinary and nursing colleagues, and be keen to continue developing your clinical knowledge.
This position requires existing proficiency in ultrasound or internal medicine rather than someone seeking their initial experience in these areas.
Location
The hospital is in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, approximately 40 minutes from the CBD, on a tram line and within easy walking distance of local shops and cafés.
