Looking for the best of both worlds?
Would you enjoy working in a busy small animal General Practice while also having the opportunity to develop your urgent care skills?
Bundoora Veterinary Clinic & Hospital is part of the independently owned Bundoora Veterinary Group (BVG). We pride ourselves on providing a supportive, collaborative environment where our vets are encouraged to develop their skills, take on interesting cases and enjoy a varied caseload.
About Us
Bundoora Veterinary Group (BVG) provides veterinary services across three clinics, including our 24/7 Bundoora Veterinary Clinic & Hospital and Northern Suburbs Animal Emergency Centre (NSAEC).
Our caseload encompasses both General Practice and Emergency & Critical Care. Trauma, foreign bodies, pericardial effusion, toxicities including snake envenomation, oncology and referral cases are all part of our regular hospital caseload.
Our facilities include:
- Extensive in-house laboratory facilities
- Ultrasound
- Endoscope
- Comprehensive hospital and surgical facilities
- Support from a Canine Medical Specialist
- Experienced veterinary and nursing teams.
Our General Practice and Emergency clinicians work closely together, allowing you to develop your skills across both areas while being supported by an experienced nursing and veterinary team.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Veterinarian to join our dedicated team across General Practice and the Northern Suburbs Animal Emergency Centre.
Depending on your experience and interests, your role may include:
- Small animal GP consultations, surgery and dentistry
- Urgent care and primary emergency consultation
- Working alongside our experienced ECC team
- A varied and interesting caseload
For veterinarians who prefer GP, this role has the flexibility to be a predominantly GP-focused position.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, dependent on the mix of GP and ECC shifts, experience and skills
- Salary negotiable for the right applicant
- 5 weeks annual leave
- Annual conference/CPD leave
- An interesting and varied caseload
- Mentoring and support from experienced veterinarians
- The opportunity to develop your Emergency & Critical Care skills while maintaining a strong GP component
- For a full-time position, hours are 76 hours per fortnight across 7 shifts, giving you 7 days off per fortnight.
- Part-time and GP focused arrangements can also be discussed for the right applicant.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of 18 months' General Practice experience
- Has an interest in combining General Practice and Emergency
- Holds current Veterinary Registration in Victoria
- Has strong communication and customer service skills
- Can work confidently both independently and as part of a high-performing team
- Is compassionate, professional and resilient
- Has enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to learn
- Enjoys working with a varied and interesting caseload
You don't need to be an ECC expert. If you have a solid grounding in General Practice and are keen to broaden your emergency skills, we would love to hear from you.
Likewise, if you already have ECC experience and would like the opportunity to maintain a strong GP component, this role offers plenty of flexibility.
If you're looking for a supportive, independently owned veterinary hospital where you can enjoy interesting cases, develop your skills and work alongside an experienced team, we'd love to meet you.
