About Us
Bundoora Veterinary Clinic & Hospital is an independently owned small animal hospital in Melbourne’s north-east, bringing together general practice, specialist medicine and emergency care under one roof. We are part of the Bundoora Veterinary Group, which also includes Mill Park Veterinary Clinic and St Helena Veterinary Centre.
We pride ourselves on providing a supportive, collaborative environment where our vets are encouraged to develop their skills, take on interesting cases and enjoy a varied caseload. Our General Practice and Emergency clinicians work closely together, allowing you to develop your skills across both areas while being supported by an experienced nursing and veterinary team.
Our caseload encompasses both General Practice and Emergency & Critical Care. Trauma, foreign bodies, pericardial effusion, toxicities including snake envenomation, oncology and referral cases are all part of our regular hospital caseload. Alongside these cases, our general practice team provides consultations, preventative care, surgery and dentistry.
The Northern Suburbs Animal Emergency Centre operates from our Bundoora hospital, providing round-the-clock care and accepting referrals from surrounding practices for patients needing overnight monitoring. Our facilities include extensive in-house laboratory services, digital radiology, ultrasound, video endoscopy, surgical suites, an isolation ward and intensive care facilities. Our in-house canine medicine specialist, Dr Birgitte Horn, also accepts feline patients and has particular interests in diagnostic ultrasound and the medical treatment of cancer patients.
We use a team approach to patient care. Veterinarians communicate directly with one another at shift changes, nurses record observations between veterinary examinations, and reception staff are included in handovers so enquiries reach the right person. This collaboration helps maintain continuity for hospitalised patients, with owners and referring practices kept informed of their progress.
We recognise animals are part of your family and our team is committed to providing the best pet health care available every hour of every day. We honestly communicate our treatment regimes and prospects. Above all we show owners compassion and care.
If you're looking for a supportive, independently owned veterinary hospital where you can enjoy interesting cases, develop your skills and work alongside an experienced team, we'd love to meet you.
