At Alma Street Veterinary Hospital, we believe being a great veterinary nurse is about more than technical skills. It’s about being part of a team that genuinely supports one another, takes pride in patient care and enjoys coming to work.
We are looking for a qualified Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV or equivalent) to join our busy and growing small animal hospital in Rockhampton.
Why Alma Street?
We are a large, progressive small animal hospital with 14 veterinarians and a strong nursing and support team. We see a diverse caseload every day, including routine medicine and surgery through to complex, critical and referral-level cases.
The hospital is owned and operated by Greg and Kate, who remain actively involved in the practice and work alongside the team every day.
We have built a workplace where people are encouraged to contribute ideas, ask questions, learn from each other and support their colleagues. We work hard, but we also believe that enjoying your workplace and the people you work with matters.

- $32–$35 per hour, depending on experience
- Additional earning opportunities through our after-hours and on-call roster
- 4-day working week with a proper lunch break

And then there’s Rockhampton...
If you’re considering a move to regional Queensland, Rockhampton offers a fantastic lifestyle without the cost, traffic and pace of a major city.
You can be at the beautiful beaches of Yeppoon or Emu Park in around 30 minutes, with the Keppel Islands on your doorstep for weekends of snorkelling, hiking and exploring.
There are also plenty of cafés, restaurants, sporting clubs, mountain biking and hiking trails, cinemas and shopping options to keep you busy.
And when you need a city escape, Brisbane is only a short flight away.
Could this be your next move?
If you’re a veterinary nurse who wants to be part of a team where patient care matters, want to continue developing your skills and enjoy variety, we’d love to hear from you.
