About Us
Alma Street Veterinary Hospital is a large, independent small animal hospital in Rockhampton, Central Queensland, owned by veterinarians Dr Greg Muir and Dr Kate Sollars. Alma Street has a long history of caring for animals throughout Rockhampton and the surrounding region.
We have a large and experienced team, including 14 veterinarians and a strong veterinary nursing and support team. Our caseload is broad and varied, ranging from everyday general practice through to complex medical, surgical, critical and referral-level cases. We also see more unusual patients, including exotics and wildlife, and our vets are involved in the veterinary care of animals at Rockhampton Zoo and the local Turtle Research Centre.
There’s plenty of variety for our nursing team. Depending on individual interests and experience, nurses can be involved in surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring, inpatient and critical patient care, blood collection and in-house laboratory work, medical treatments, radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy, as well as client communication and patient discharges.
We’ve built a workplace where people are encouraged to contribute ideas, ask questions, learn from each other and support their colleagues. We have excellent staff retention and a large, experienced team, giving people plenty of opportunities to learn from those around them. Professional development is strongly supported, including paid CPD and conference leave.
For veterinary professionals who enjoy variety, want to keep developing their clinical skills and value being part of an experienced team, Alma Street Veterinary Hospital offers the chance to work with a broad and interesting caseload in a practice where learning, teamwork and excellent patient care are genuinely valued.
If you're interested in joining us, we'd love to hear from you!
