Due to continued growth of our varied and interesting caseload, The Austin Vet Specialists is looking for Animal Care Attendants. As an independent centre, we have the freedom and flexibility to do things our way (for example, we named our centre after our cat!).

This role would suit somebody with a genuine passion for animals and a desire to progress in their career in animal health care.

How we work

You will rotate through the various departments (with full support), including surgery, internal medicine, urgent care and imaging, ensuring we deliver exceptional patient care and outstanding client care to owners. Daily duties include caring for and maintaining patients' hygiene, maintaining the practice's overall hygiene, assisting nurses with pre and post-operative care tasks, and delivering outstanding care to all patients and owners.

This role will be lively, exciting and fulfilling, and to enjoy it fully, you will:

Have an interest in animal healthcare
Desire to assist nurses with general nursing tasks
Willingness to undertake tasks involved with maintaining the hygiene and functionality of the practice
Genuinely enjoy spending time with animals

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and expertise:

Excellent interpersonal communication
Ability to work as part of a team
Outstanding personal presentation
Maintain a positive demeanour even under stress
Believe in growing professionally
Respect the value every person brings to the organisation, regardless of their role
Ability to participate in rotating roster, including weekend, public holidays and night shifts.
Possess initiative and a positive mindset.
