Vet Central Animal Hospital is looking for a Certificate IV veterinary nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our team of professional nurses and vets.

Vet Central is a small animal independent hospital in Earlwood on the border of inner-west Sydney. We are a purpose-built hospital established in 2012 and we treat cats, dogs and rabbits. There are 3 nurses on staff, 2.5 vets and we work closely as a team and are well supported. As a hospital, we strive to offer our clients gold standard service and care. Our caseloads are well managed and we work in a stress-free environment.

Your main duties will include, but not limited to;

Handling client enquiries professionally in person, by email and over the phone.
Exceptional time management skills that keep the clinic flowing smoothly during busy hours.
Reception duties, including counter sales and client advice on preventatives and nutrition.
Processing the admittance and discharging of patients.
Theatre and patient preparation for anaesthetics and surgery.
Anaesthetic monitoring and patient care post-surgery.
Performing blood work for in house pathology.
Assisting with X-rays and maintenance of radiology suite.
Maintaining a clean and organised hospital.
Caring and nursing of in-house patients.

About the position

The applicant should:

Have at least 2 years of vet nursing experience working in a small animal hospital.
Must be confident with the handling and caring for dogs, cats and rabbits
Must have completed a Certificate IV in veterinary nursing
You will be working for approximately 4 days per week from 11am to 7pm
Profiency with Ezyvet Software and Idexx In house blood pathology will be beneficial.

Our Offer:

The base rate pay is $35/hr depending on the level of experience.
