Our opening hours are:
• Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 11:00pm, Friday: 7:00am – 9:00pm
• Saturday & Sunday: 7:00am – 6:00pm
About the Role
This is a full-time position offering:
• 40-hour work week
• A rotating roster including 1 in 5 Saturdays
• Rostered day off following weekend shifts to ensure consecutive days off
• A balanced mix of surgical, medical and client care shifts
• Shared public holidays (approximately 2 per year)
• Rosters published one month in advance
We are primarily a canine and feline practice, with occasional exotic patients.
About You
We are looking for a confident and capable nurse who:
• Works well independently and within a team
• Demonstrates excellent patient care and animal handling skills
• Has strong communication and client care abilities
• Enjoys mentoring and supporting junior nurses
• Thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will ideally have experience in:
• Anaesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing
• Managing surgical patients pre, intra and post-operatively
• Emergency and critical care nursing
• Dentistry procedures
• Blood collection and IV catheter placement
• Running in-house IDEXX diagnostics
• Digital radiography
• Nurse consultations including laser therapy and nutrition
• Orthopaedic procedures (training available if required)
Requirements
• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years veterinary nursing experience
• Strong client communication skills
• Experience with RxWorks and Smartflow highly regarded
