Our flagship North Ryde hospital is seeking ECC Nurses who will be essential in providing care to our patients from emergency admission through to discharge.
What your day-to-day looks like:
- Assist with and/or perform advanced interventions such as placement of central, PICC and arterial lines, direct arterial pressure monitoring, urinary catheter placement, feeding tube placement, high flow nasal oxygen provision, and mechanical ventilation
- Participate in and lead CPR resuscitation efforts
- Assist with admissions and discharges from the ICU
- Conduct and collect various laboratory samples for internal and external analysis
- Assist with transfer to and reception of critical care referrals from general practice veterinarians
- Support the emergency department with triage and procedural responsibilities
- Assist with critical care anaesthesia, including TIVA, in collaboration with anaesthetists within the SASH network
To be considered for this position, applicants will need to demonstrate":
- Completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
- A minimum of 2 years, full-time experience as a qualified nurse.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and overnights as part of a 24/7 emergency team
- Previous experience in Emergency, ICU or referral medicine will be highly advantageous
