About Us
Tauranga Veterinary Services is a local, family-owned veterinary group caring for animals and their owners across the Bay of Plenty. With five clinics in Tauranga, Te Puna, Katikati, Papamoa and Mount Maunganui, our team provides veterinary care for companion animals as well as lifestyle, production and equine animals.
Our work is varied, with services ranging from everyday preventative healthcare and consultations through to surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging and more complex medical cases. Across the group, our clinical facilities include digital and dental radiography, ultrasonography and in-house laboratory diagnostics. We also manage selected referral cases and have access to additional services including CT, MRI and referral imaging interpretation when required.
Veterinary nurses are an important part of our clinical team and are actively involved in patient care and the day-to-day running of our practices. Nursing responsibilities can include assisting veterinarians with examinations, procedures and surgery, administering treatments as directed, undertaking laboratory work, maintaining patient records and supporting clients through education and communication. We value people who take pride in delivering thoughtful, compassionate care and who enjoy working collaboratively with their colleagues.
Professional standards are an important part of the way we work. Our Tauranga, Katikati and Mount Maunganui clinics hold NZVA Best Practice accreditation, while these clinics are also Cat-Friendly accredited. Our Mount Maunganui clinic is a Fear Free Certified Veterinary Practice and was the first practice in New Zealand to achieve this accreditation. These programmes reflect our focus on clinical standards, animal welfare, staff development and creating a calmer experience for patients.
We are committed to supporting the wellbeing and professional development of our team. Across Tauranga Veterinary Services, there is an emphasis on continuing education, collaboration and learning from experienced colleagues, alongside initiatives that support staff wellbeing and connection.
