About Us
Rockdale Veterinary Hospital is a busy, growing, independently owned small animal hospital in Bexley, in Sydney’s south. Established in 2022 by owner and head veterinarian Dr Rob Kay, our purpose-built hospital combines modern facilities and high standards of veterinary medicine with a friendly, down-to-earth approach.
We’re proud of the care we provide, but we’re equally serious about creating a workplace where people enjoy coming to work. We value team members who care about their patients, support the people around them, take pride in doing their job well and want to keep learning and developing.
A big part of who we are is our commitment to Fear Free veterinary care. Our vets and nurses are Fear Free trained, and we consider our patients’ emotional wellbeing alongside their physical health. From separate dog and cat consultation rooms and longer appointment times to gentle handling and a little extra patience when it’s needed, we put a lot of thought into making veterinary visits less stressful for our patients.
Our modern hospital is well equipped for a varied medical and surgical caseload. Facilities include digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house pathology and comprehensive surgical and anaesthetic equipment. We offer everything from preventative healthcare, dentistry and general medicine through to advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, with access to specialist services when required.
We want everyone in our clinical team to have the opportunity to use their skills and contribute meaningfully to patient care. We also recognise that none of us ever stops learning, so ongoing professional development and supporting our team to build their knowledge and confidence are important to us.
Beyond the hospital, we’re proud to support animal charities including Greyhound Rescue locally and Animals Fiji through annual visits.
