About Us
At Castlemaine Veterinary Clinic, we support collegial relationships so no one feels isolated or that they have to make important clinical decisions alone. We promote a strong vet and vet nurse culture so that we approach animal care as a team.
We are an established, modern small animal practice in central Victoria. Our skilled veterinary surgeons are assisted by knowledgeable and friendly staff, and we aim to provide a high standard of veterinary and client care, prioritising animals, people and the community we live in. Experienced team members have opportunities to share their knowledge and mentor junior colleagues. Continuing professional development is encouraged and supported with an allowance. We also offer family-friendly flexibility.
Our well-equipped clinic offers a full range of veterinary diagnostics, care and preventative health measures. This includes in-house diagnostic imaging featuring digital radiology and a visiting ultrasonographer; in-house blood and lab work, full eye exams, a well-equipped surgical theatre, a visiting specialist providing endoscopy and echocardiography, and emergency hospitalisation. We work closely with visiting specialists and Melbourne-based specialist centres, giving our team access to expertise across veterinary medicine, surgery and behaviour.
Castlemaine is a thriving regional town 90 minutes by car to Melbourne. Castlemaine offers something for everyone: monthly farmers’ and artists’ markets, renowned bike tracks and park, goldfields walking tracks, proximity to the Hepburn and Daylesford spa country, vineyards, cideries, gin distilleries, lavender farms, the Castlemaine festival and fringe festival, and a choice of good schools, including alternative independent schools.
