Veterinarian - Permanent Part-time

Down here in Albany, we believe the only way to provide exceptional care to our patients is to make sure we take care of ourselves too. That’s why we are looking for another veterinarian to join us part-time to share the workload.
The position
- Permanent part-time work with flexible hours and days to encourage an actual work-life balance, tailored to your own personal needs
- 1 week day on call and every fourth weekend on-call (Saturday-Sunday) with public holidays shared amongst the vets
- Position ready for immediate start, but is negotiable
The clinic
Mira MarVet Hospital is 100% companion animals and is purpose built with equipment including:
- Digital x-ray
- In-house laboratory (Idexx blood machines, coagulation machine, microscopy etc.)
- In-house ultrasound
- IM3 dental suite with dental x-rays included in every dental procedure
- Endoscopy
- Tonometer
- Electrocautery
- Vet tome
- Orthopaedic equipment
At Mira Mar we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care to both our patients and clients by focusing on fear-free techniques. This is why we have a cat-only waiting room and why we offer weekly home visits on Wednesdays to make each visit as stress-free as possible!
We are looking for someone who:
- Is experienced in both consulting and surgical shifts
- Able to work independently during sole charge shifts, but with the option of backup if needed. (Every on-call veterinarian has a rostered nurse on with them to assist as needed)
- Has excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues
- Is hard-working and able to time manage efficiently
- Is a team player who understands the importance of supporting each other in this industry
- We are also open to considering new graduates for this position and are happy to provide support and mentorship for someone less experienced
