About Us
Vetwell is a boutique group of privately owned veterinary practices across Brisbane. Our practices operate at seven locations: Aspley, Alderley-Enoggera, Chelmer-Graceville, Clontarf, Deagon-Sandgate, Mitchelton and North Lakes. Each practice has its own local identity and community, while being part of a wider veterinary group built around shared professional values. Vetwell practices are owned and operated by experienced Queensland veterinarians.
At the heart of Vetwell are two closely connected beliefs. We see ourselves as a community of like-minded veterinary professionals who can support one another, and we believe in practising excellent veterinary medicine based on science. For people joining one of our practices, this means becoming part of a group that values both the quality of the medicine being practised and the people delivering it.
Vetwell practices provide general veterinary care across a broad range of areas. Services offered within the group include preventative healthcare, internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, dentistry, hospitalisation, diagnostic testing, exotic pet medicine, oncology and chemotherapy, nutrition and behaviour advice. Many diagnostic tests can be carried out within Vetwell clinics, with referral and specialist services arranged when patients require care beyond what can be provided locally.
The individual practices vary in size, history and facilities, which gives each workplace its own character. Some have served their local communities for decades, while others operate from newer purpose-built facilities. For example, Mitchelton has a long history as Brisbane’s first certified Veterinary Hospital, Aspley operates from a purpose-built hospital, and North Lakes is a purpose-built Veterinary Hospital. Clontarf also operates from a modern, architecturally designed facility.
Working with Vetwell
Although each Vetwell practice has its own team and community, being part of the group provides a broader professional network. The Vetwell ethos places real importance on veterinarians and veterinary nurses supporting one another, sharing knowledge and maintaining high standards of evidence-based veterinary care.
The group’s practices are built around long-term relationships with clients and their pets. Several Vetwell clinics have been part of their local communities for many years, and the practice information across the group consistently reflects an emphasis on ongoing preventative healthcare, thoughtful patient care and communication with pet owners.
For veterinary nurses and other support team members, Vetwell offers the chance to work within established veterinary practices while being connected to a wider community of veterinary professionals. The exact team structure, facilities and day-to-day work vary between locations, allowing each practice to retain the individuality and relationships that come with being a local veterinary clinic.
