Turramurra Veterinary Hospital

About Us

Turramurra Veterinary Hospital is an independent, family and vet-owned small animal hospital on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. Established in Turramurra in 2006, the practice has strong ties to the local community and has grown into a modern veterinary hospital while remaining proudly family owned.

A major point of difference is the hospital’s ASAV Hospital of Excellence accreditation. Turramurra Veterinary Hospital is the only ASAV-accredited Hospital of Excellence on Sydney’s North Shore, reflecting the high standards maintained across its facilities, patient care and practice management. The practice is also a Lincoln Institute Accredited Employer of Choice, with an ongoing focus on workplace culture, leadership and professional development.

The recently renovated hospital provides a well-equipped environment for a broad range of small animal veterinary care. Facilities include sterile surgical theatres, digital radiography, ultrasound, dental radiography, in-house pathology, oxygen support and dedicated hospital facilities. The practice provides preventative care, medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging and hospital care, with visiting specialists also providing services in areas including imaging, internal medicine and surgery.

Veterinary nurses play an active clinical role within the hospital. Nursing work can include preparing patients for procedures, anaesthetic monitoring, placing IV catheters and collecting blood samples, managing fluid therapy, assisting with dentistry and dental radiography, caring for hospitalised patients and supporting emergency and critical cases. Nurses may also assist with consultations, triage and nurse consultations, providing plenty of opportunity to use and develop practical clinical skills.

The clinical team is supported by a dedicated Customer Care Team and Veterinary Hospital Attendants, allowing nurses to maintain a strong focus on patient care while still working collaboratively across the hospital when needed. The practice places a strong emphasis on teamwork and aims to maintain a high ratio of support staff to veterinarians as part of its commitment to providing a high standard of care.

Learning and development are part of the practice culture. Team members have access to in-clinic Lunch and Learn sessions, team training events and conferences, together with regular performance evaluations and professional development reviews. The hospital also encourages experienced team members to contribute to the development of colleagues and junior staff.

Turramurra Veterinary Hospital describes its approach to patient care simply: every pet should be cared for as if they were their own. That philosophy is reflected in the hospital’s clinical standards, investment in facilities and equipment, and emphasis on giving its team the support needed to provide thorough, compassionate care.
