Our purpose is to support better lives for the people, animals and communities of rural North Queensland with advanced veterinary science and compassionate care.
Tableland Veterinary Service is a family-owned group of mixed practice veterinary clinics across Far North Queensland. Our clinics are located in Malanda, Atherton and Ravenshoe on the Atherton Tableland, along with clinics in Charters Towers, Edmonton, Innisfail, Cooktown and Weipa. We love our community and our work, but most of all we love to support each other and help one another succeed.
Our team care for the needs of all animals, from dairy and beef herds, to working dogs and horses, elite performance horses, cherished pets, and wildlife. We have over 100 staff and have a culture of positivity, dependability and humility. We care for one another like family, and love to celebrate each other’s wins.
Tableland Veterinary Service (TVS) has been part of veterinary life in North Queensland since 1977. From its beginnings on the Atherton Tablelands, the family-owned practice has grown into a substantial veterinary group with around 100 team members working across a network of clinics and communities. Despite the distance between some locations, the practice places a strong emphasis on its teams working together and supporting one another.
The scale of TVS creates an unusually broad veterinary environment. Across the group, services extend from companion animals to cattle and horses, with work ranging from preventative health and routine surgery through to complex soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures, reproduction, dentistry, herd health and emergency care. The network also provides 24/7 emergency veterinary services from selected locations. The exact mix of work varies between clinics, reflecting the needs of the communities they serve.
For veterinary nurses and other support team members, this means being part of an organisation with considerable clinical depth and a diverse range of veterinary professionals. Nurses, receptionists, technicians, veterinarians and office staff all contribute to a group that has continued to develop over more than four decades.
