About Us
We’re a privately owned small animal hospital in Elizabeth Bay, in Sydney’s inner east, with a friendly group of vets, veterinary nurses, receptionists and animal attendants who genuinely enjoy working together.
We take our work seriously, but that doesn’t mean we take ourselves too seriously. We’re a small, happy bunch, and having people around us who are positive, caring and willing to pitch in makes a big difference to our days. There’s plenty of experience within the hospital, and continuing education and professional development are important to us. We enjoy sharing what we know, learning from each other and having people around to bounce ideas off.
Our nurses are a big part of what we do, and we want them to really use their skills, not just stand on the sidelines. Depending on their experience, they can be involved in inpatient care, admissions and discharges, surgical and anaesthetic nursing, dental and radiography procedures, nurse consultations and triage, client education, and assisting our vets with consultations and procedures. We encourage people to keep learning, develop their skills and get involved.
We see a varied range of cases and provide preventative care, general medicine, surgery, dentistry, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, dermatology, behavioural care, pain management and palliative care. We also have in-house laboratory facilities, radiography, ultrasonography and dental equipment to help us provide a high standard of care for our patients.
Caring for animals extends beyond the patients who come through our doors. We support Paws & Recover and Maggie’s Rescue, and some of our staff have also been involved in wildlife, rescue and conservation work. We care about our environmental impact too and have introduced a range of sustainability initiatives within the hospital.
What matters to us is doing good work with good people. We want our staff to feel comfortable being themselves, know that their contribution is valued and enjoy being part of the hospital. We work hard, support each other and care deeply about what we do, and we think that makes Potts Point Veterinary Hospital a pretty special place to work.
