About Us
Evervet is a locally owned, family-run veterinary group that has been caring for Melbourne pets and their families for more than 50 years. The practice began as Prahran Veterinary Hospital in 1975 and has grown over the decades into the Evervet group, with four Melbourne locations and a team of veterinarians, veterinary nurses and support staff working across the organisation. Despite that growth, Evervet has deliberately maintained the personal approach and community connection of an independent veterinary practice.
At the heart of Evervet is a simple philosophy: “What’s Best for the Pet.” The team believes pets make people better human beings, and this idea shapes the way patients, clients and colleagues are treated. Evervet places particular importance on familiar faces, personalised care and building genuine, long-term relationships with the families who trust the practice with their pets.
For veterinary nurses and support staff, Evervet offers the chance to become meaningfully involved in patient care and the everyday life of the practice. Collaboration is an important part of the workplace, with experienced veterinarians and nurses working together and an emphasis on asking questions, sharing knowledge and continuing to develop professionally.
Evervet’s Prahran hospital is an ASAVA Hospital of Excellence, providing nationally recognised standards of veterinary healthcare, facilities and practice management. The hospital also offers advanced diagnostic capability including on-site CT, while Evervet’s broader approach combines modern veterinary medicine with a strong focus on empathy, communication and individual patient care.
