About Us
We’re an independent small animal practice in Melbourne’s north-east, proudly caring for pets and their families in the Eltham community since 1972. Our purpose-built hospital sits in the leafy surrounds of Eltham, and while the practice has a long history, we’ve continued to invest in our facilities, our people and the standard of care we provide.
Our team culture is very important to us. Respect, compassion, teamwork, integrity and quality are the values that guide how we work, both with our clients and with each other. We’re a busy practice and we work hard, but we also want EVP to be somewhere people enjoy coming to work. We value people who pitch in, take pride in what they do and genuinely want to be part of the team.
One of the things we particularly value is having time together as a practice. Every Thursday we provide lunch for the team, followed by dedicated time for staff meetings and training. These sessions can cover professional and personal development, patient care, customer service, new products and other areas that help us keep learning and improving together.
Our veterinary, nursing and reception teams include people with many years of experience at EVP, and we place real value on collaboration and sharing knowledge. Former team members describe the practice as close-knit, supportive and collaborative, with experienced colleagues who are willing to lend a hand. They also regularly mention something we’re particularly fortunate to have: a genuinely lovely client base.
Clinically, we offer plenty of variety. Our purpose-built hospital is equipped with in-house pathology, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, modern anaesthetic and patient monitoring equipment, and facilities for a broad range of medical and surgical cases. Our services extend beyond everyday general practice to areas including soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, TPLO procedures, BOAS surgery, chemotherapy, physiotherapy and behaviour.
We’re proud to be an established independent practice with a strong connection to our local community, a team that enjoys working together and a workplace where people are trusted to get on with their jobs while knowing support is there when they need it.
