About Us
Clyde Veterinary Hospital is a purpose-built veterinary hospital in Clyde North, established in 2018 by veterinarian Dr Irene Mitry and her husband Albert. We’re a close-knit team of vets, nurses and support staff who take a genuinely caring approach to our patients and the people who bring them through our doors. Preventative medicine is an important part of our philosophy, with a focus on supporting each patient’s health and wellbeing over the long term.
Our nurses are encouraged to be actively involved in patient care and make full use of their clinical skills. Nursing work includes anaesthetic monitoring, medical and surgical nursing, dental cases, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, blood collection, radiography and client education. A dedicated client service team manages reception, allowing our veterinary nurses to spend more of their time focused on clinical nursing, patients and supporting our vets.
Professional development is important to us. We support ongoing learning through regular training, mentoring from senior team members and access to internal and external development opportunities. Nurses are also encouraged to contribute ideas and take initiative within the practice. For those interested in areas such as stock management, workflow development or improving practice systems, there are opportunities to develop these skills alongside clinical nursing responsibilities.
Our purpose-built hospital is designed to support a broad range of veterinary care, including consulting, surgery, dentistry, hospitalisation, digital radiography and in-house pathology. Facilities include a dedicated surgery room, infectious disease isolation room, separate dog and cat wards and waiting areas, a dedicated cat consulting room and a 43-square-metre outdoor exercise area for patients.
Clyde Veterinary Hospital is an International Society of Feline Medicine Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic. Our dedicated feline facilities include separate waiting, consulting and hospital areas, with team members trained in handling and caring for cats in ways that help reduce stress during their visit or hospital stay.
We value nurses who want to be involved in their patients’ care, communicate well with clients and contribute to the way the practice works. Our team pulls together on busy days, and we want our nurses to feel respected, supported and confident contributing their knowledge and ideas.
