About Us
Clermont Veterinary Surgery is a genuine mixed animal practice in the heart of Central Queensland cattle country. We’ve been part of the Clermont community and surrounding districts for more than 45 years, caring for everything from family pets and equine athletes to cattle and other farm animals.
We’re a friendly, down-to-earth and close-knit team, and we like our workplace to reflect the community we’re part of. Teamwork and respect matter here, but so does having a good sense of humour. With more than 100 years of combined veterinary experience across the team, there’s also plenty of knowledge to draw on and opportunities to learn from the people around you.
One of the things that really defines Clermont Veterinary Surgery is the variety. Our caseload is approximately 35% equine, 35% small animal and 30% cattle, so working here means being part of a true mixed practice rather than simply seeing the occasional large animal case. Our team works both in the clinic and out on the road, providing ambulatory equine and mixed practice services throughout the surrounding region.
Our clinic has full hospital facilities and provides 24-hour emergency care, surgery and dentistry. Companion animal services range from preventative healthcare and diagnostics through to routine and complex surgery and orthopaedics. On the equine side, our work includes dentistry, reproduction, lameness and poor performance investigations, surgery, advanced diagnostics and intensive care. We also provide a broad range of cattle and farm animal services, including herd health, reproduction, pathology and biosecurity.
Our veterinary team includes considerable experience in rural practice, including an equine specialist and an Australian Cattle Veterinarian of the Year. For veterinary nurses and support staff, that breadth of expertise creates an interesting environment in which to keep learning and building practical skills.
Nursing at Clermont is hands-on and varied. Nurses can be involved in administering medications, preparing and monitoring anaesthetics and supporting the veterinary and reception teams, with work taking place both in the clinic and out on the road. It’s an environment where you can gain exposure to different species and different areas of veterinary care while working alongside an experienced team.
