Broome Veterinary Hospital

About Us

Broome Veterinary Hospital is a well-established veterinary practice in Broome, Western Australia, providing veterinary care to the local community and the wider Kimberley region.

Founded by Dr Dave Morrell in 1978 as Broome’s first veterinary clinic, the practice has grown considerably over the years and now operates as a fully equipped veterinary hospital, with a branch clinic in Derby.

Being based in a remote part of Western Australia means the team needs to be able to manage a particularly broad range of cases in-house. The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory and a fully equipped surgical suite, allowing the team to undertake the majority of soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures on site. The practice also provides a 24-hour emergency service and works with local wildlife organisations to care for sick and injured wildlife.

Broome Veterinary Hospital has an experienced team of veterinarians, veterinary nurses, receptionists and kennel attendants, with team members bringing a range of professional interests and experience to the practice.

For veterinary professionals, working at Broome Veterinary Hospital offers the opportunity to develop experience across a varied caseload while living and working in one of Australia’s most distinctive regional locations. With the nearest specialist referral centres a considerable distance away, team members have the opportunity to be involved in cases that might otherwise be referred in a metropolitan setting.

The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5.30 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 11 am, with an after-hours emergency service available seven days a week.
